How GenAI is revolutionising and transforming the way we work

AI – or artificial intelligence – captured the world’s attention in 2023, with Collins dictionary calling it the word of the year. Between AI’s rapid evolution with platforms like ChatGPT to the launch of the UK’s first AI Safety Summit, thought leaders have come together to consider AI’s implications on ethics, the workforce and how it can be woven into our daily lives.

In this discussion on what GenAI means in the context of our tech and telco industry, we speak to Ioana Dobre, Managing Director in Accenture’s Communications, Media and Technology practice. Ioana leads Accenture Strategy in the UKIA and our Ecostystem Strategy Growth across EMEA. She has over 25 years of experience working with telecom and technology companies across the world supporting them in the transformation and reinvention of their operations.

In the podcast, hosted by Gilda Leicer Avila, WICT UK & Ireland Sponsorship Co-Chair and Virgin Media O2 Virtual Assistant Product Owner (Intelligent Automation), Ioana shares her insights on how GenAI is revolutionising the way we work, its key trends and opportunities to watch for in 2024 and how it’s creating new opportunities for individuals and organisations. The conversation also delves into the risks the sector must be aware of to ensure GenAI is developed and applied securely, responsibly, and sustainably.

The podcast builds on our WICT UK & Ireland panel discussion held in November on the Ethics of AI, where industry leaders shed light on what constitutes ethical AI, including human accountability throughout all parts of the system, transparency in data collection and usage, and an emphasis on upskilling the workforce to understand the mechanics of AI.
